mission statement

A Las Positas college student will be awarded a $2,000 scholarship transferring for Las Positas College to a four-year university. The scholarship will assist a student who has financial needs to attain their collegiate goal, aspiring to be a positive influence on society, which will honor Laurel.

The second annual endowment will be awarded by April 15th and will be included at the Las Positas Awards ceremony in May 2010.

We also hope, as did our first scholarship winner, Stacey Wenzel, the 2010 receiptient will attend our Second Annual Laurel Alice Williams Foundation Auction/Dinner in May, 2010.

qualifications
  • Transferring from Las Positas College
  • Female, enrolled in 4 year for Fall, 2010
  • Minimum GPA: 2.5
  • Full time student
  • 1 letter recommendation
  • Unofficial Las Positas transcript
  • 1 page Personal statement of background, goals, including a paragraph on your thoughts of Laurel's story found here
  • Financial need: Student must have filed a FAFSA application for 2010-2011 (www.fafsa.ed.gov) but results indicate student does not qualify for a Pell grant. Expected Family Contribution must indicate student has financial need, but not enough need for a Pell grant.

Foothill High School

A Foothill High School student will be awarded a $500 scholarship college. The scholarship will assist a student who has financial needs to attain their collegiate goal, aspiring to be a positive influence on society, which will honor Laurel.

The 1st annual endowment will be awarded by April 20th and will be included at the Foothill Senior Awards ceremony in May 2010.

We also hope, as did our first scholarship winner, Stacey Wenzel, the 2010 recipient will attend our Second Annual Laurel Alice Williams Foundation Auction/Dinner in May, 2010.

  • High School Senior, enrolling in College for Fall, 2010
  • Minimum GPA: 2.5
  • Full time student
  • 1 letter recommendation
