mission statement

The Laurel Alice Williams Foundation was created in loving memory of Laurel Alice Williams. She was a vibrant, caring, and loving young women. The foundation’s mission is two-fold currently:

  • Provide an annual endowment in the form of a scholarship to an individual transferring from Las Positas College to a four-year university. The scholarship will assist a student who has financial needs’ to attain their collegiate goal, aspiring to be a positive influence on society, which will honor Laurel and her family.

  • Promote the expansion of Safe Rides, a life-saving service for teens by teens, provides free and confidential rides for teens on weekend evenings. It is a safe alternative to driving or riding with someone under the influence, to San Ramon and Danville areas. It currently is already under operation in Pleasanton through the help of Boy Scouts of America. The foundation has the hopes of increasing the ages for rider ship up to age 20 from the current age of 17 in all areas served.

The Laurel Alice Williams Foundation is a sponsored project of the Tri-Valley Community Foundation, an IRS 501(c)(3) charitable organization.
